I ordered 6lug disc brake kit with manual master cylinder over a month ago and still haven't received it. called them 2 weeks ago and was told that they had 1.50 part (access plug) backordered and that was holding up my order.I informed them to send my order without plug still haven't received it. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | Call them at least once a week and check. Even the dealers around here don't like dealing with CPP, they work at their own pace. They are not the only game in town. Another case of they could sell a lot more if they took care of the customer.

Rather expensive, but fast delivery, excellent product and fit. Not to hijack the thread. But I have the worst luck with Jim Carter. 4 years ago I ordered a part that, after 2 weeks I called and they said it was on back order. Six months later I received a post card saying that the part was no longer available and the charge to my card had been reversed. Wednesday I ordered some body parts (I can't find another vendor carrying the art deco door skins anymore), received an email that delivery would take 2-3 weeks. I thought that was ridiculous considering I am 2 days UPS ground from them. Last night I received another email stating that one of my parts was backordered. Why don't they tell you this stuff on the phone before they charge the card? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 58 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 58 | The best thing about CPP is the glossy catalog they put out, it's all down hill after that | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 887 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 887 | I had a bad experience with CPP myself- THey took over a month on a order, when I finally called they told me it was back ordered and would be a few more weeks.
I ordered a brake booster/master cylinder kit from them and a couple of months later when I got around to putting it in I call to see if I could swap the unsused brand new never out of the box single diapragm booster for a dual diapragm and they said no returns after 30 days! I mentioned that if they had told me when I ordered it that for an extra $30 I could have had the dual I would have gone that way.
Anyhow... one thing I do like about CPP is their website. Lots of their 'kits' are pretty easy to make on your own if you know what it looks like and how to install it. So, when I'm thinking about upgrading something I'll go to their site, look at the pictures and install instructions before deciding whether to buy or build using parts from the scrap yard.
