I believe (not sure) my rearend is geared at 4:10. I talked to Randy's Ring and Pinion up in Seattle who suggested either a 3:72 , or 3:42 but the 3:42 needs a new pumkin. At $900+ for the new upgrade/swap (includes Limited slip) is there a specific donor car I should look for?

Chevys were standard with coils, but leafs were available as an option. Once you have that answer, shop your local junk yards for the rear from a 1/2-ton 67-70 Chevy or GMC that came with a V-8 and automatic.
My '72 with a factory 350/350 setup has 3.42 or something close.
If you can find one with the same spring type you should be able to just bolt and unbolt to install it.

It's going into my '50, so you can't have it, but there are plenty of them out there, you just have to put the word out.
