I believe that he said the hardest (read expensive) part was the spacer "sleeve" that was required to adapt the Nissan hub to the Chevy spindle. I was wondering if anyone here has used this set-up, and if their were any pro's or con's to this set up. Thanks in Advance, GarryK

If not there is a place called Buffalo engineering (I think). That makes brakets for hanging Chevy (full size car) truck calipers and then you use chevy 4x4 rotors on the original hubs. If you go to www.inliners.org you should see Buffalos ad. Hope this helps

I have been running Chevy PU ralley rims since 1985 (got a set off a brand new truck a guy was lifting and going to custom rims) I have since replaced the wide beauty rings with a set of ribbed ss beauty rings from a early to mid 40's Buick, and have a Chevy emblem over the "4x4" on the center caps. I used to have 235x75x15's for many years till they started to get dry rot. Last year I got a set of take-off (yes again..) 225x70x15's from a Cop car (Wrecked shortly after new). Very nice tires and the price was just right. So Disc brakes will work just fine for my rims. Besides the Radials are so much better than my old 6.50 16 bias ply tires. But I do need to do the tapered roller bearing upgrade soon, and get some decent shocks put all the way around. Thanks again, Garry

I just bought one on ebay. Here's a detailed web site on installation I guess it probably uses the 4X4 rotors Brian mentioned. I'm sure it would be cheaper to scrounge your own parts and buy the bracket kit. Buffalo Engineering doesn't have a site yet but on their future site I noticed another interesting item; an adapter to run a 350 tranny behind a 248.

I always thought the cut-off was 47 1/2 not 49. Am I missing something???? I would probably buy this kit right now, but he said it won't work on my 48, only on 49 and up. In the 20+ years I've owned my Chevy, I've never heard of this change between 48 and 49. Can someone please enlighten me????? Thanks in advance, Garry

I think the earlier years are smaller 5/16th comes to mind but don't quote me on it.
Cletis I just bought that other Kit!
Thanks

Looks like it has everything needed including new studs. The master cylinder kit has the proportioner pre-mounted. Looks like a good deal.

Oh well still a good price. Cletis how many boxes did your Disc kit come in? I just got notification that my order is on its way. 2 boxes just shy of 80 lbs total. California to MICH 80 LBS for $25.00 Can you sweet deal!

I knocked the drums off the old hubs and cleaned them yesterday. Got my spindles and steering parts blasted. I still need to blast my axle. Looks like the new parts will fit nicely together.
Of course I'm still a long way from home. I'm doing a "ground-up".
