I'm doing a frame off restoration on my 57 Chevy stepside and am putting on a new front end.

I have done research on cost and found the corvette front and rear end too expensive for my blood. I would like to get a good Mustang II IFS and am looking at the TCI brand. I've heard some say the Heidt's brand is a little beefier, is this true? If so is it worth the extra $150 for a Heidt over a TCI?
Tim's Hotrods on E-bay is offering one for $1586 w/ free shipping, includes Crossmember, 3/16" Boxing plate, Large brake kit GM metric calipers, 11" rotors, Ford 4.5 Bolt pattern Manual rack w/ free upgrade to power. Sound like a good deal? Is there anything else better on the market? Thanks!!

The ebay one is a tci I bvelieve. Even if not, it is a good deal unless you can wait for a goodguys show in your area. They sell these there also at a good price and you can walk waway with it.

Dave,
I don't know where you are in Oregon but I got my custom IFS for my 55 second series from Jim Messler @ Messler products in Cottage Grove 541-767-3311. You might give him a call.

30,000 miles/3 years, tires look great, nary a problem. I may sound like a broken record to regulars, but I continue to vouch for my Progressive Automtive suspension.

My TCI has worked out just fine.It has the power rack and pinion steering. Also the tubular A arms.A lot of guys around here like the Heidts, and also the Fatmans setups.I think if you shop for a lower price and stick with a good company you will be OK.The $1586.sounds like a good price to me.That is about what I paid for mine a few years ago.
