hey guys im shopping for a new dash gauge insert and have found many sources for the Boese inserts but it looks like a bezel is needed as well. i am not finding any kind of a bezel anywhere for my 63 c10.

heres an example:

picture from boese site http://www.boeseengineering.com/images/Boese%20Products/Autometer/6063TruckAutometer_200.jpg

but here is the product they sell http://www.boeseengineering.com/images/Boese%20Products/Packed/500x375/14003.jpg

see what i mean about the bezel? Where can I get a bezel?

if anyone can give me some insight on this i would appreciate it

I think that you will have to buy a reproduction or remanned one. I have seen a lot of 64-66 dash pieces but I have not seen a whole lot of stuff for the 60-63 dashes. I guess I am not hlp...sorry.

Sorry Troy.. I'm not seeing what bezel your talking about. UNless... your talking about the actual outside trim.. the blue piece. That is a stock part, came on the truck. If you don't have one it's off to the wreckers to find one. The '63 dash is different than 64-66. The chrome bezels come with the guages.

Hope all this helps.

yeah it actually is that blue peice. i dont see how the insert would fit in there without it. i currently have some sort of an insert. its a big clunker and about an inch thick. its painted and not too sharp looking. its one peice of steel with the lip on it.

heres a closeup of what i have: note the PO's awesome paint skills smile

its held in by screws 1 bottom 2 sides 2 top. i dont see how the Boese insert will attach without something like the blue insert in the link in the first post.

think i'll try to send an email to the guys at boese and see if they can answer.

Keep us posted. I'm looking for a replacement bezel as well, so I don't have to break my old gauge package apart.

email sent to Boese asking about it and here is the response:

This dash inserts bolts into the stock bezel (this is all that the blue piece is). I don't know of anybody who is reproducing this bezel for the
60-63 Chevy Trucks. We picked ours up at a swap meet for $15.00 & just threw on a coat of paint.

I'm assuming that the bezel & gauges are gone from your truck. I have seen the bezels on ebay, but only with the stock gauges as of late.

Thank you.
Dean Conner Jr.

so there it is from the horses mouth. Thanks Dean for the quick response. guess i'll try to find a cheapie stock gauge on ebay to hack up.
