Its been a month now since I bought my first old truck, a gold and white 1970 1/2 ton. After doing some engine work and a transmission swap, it is drivable, but I would like to convert the front to disc brakes. I've seen many of the kits online, but would like to know if the spindles form a mid 70's Chevy truck would work on my 1970? And of course, I would get some 6-lug rotors to keep the same wheels.

Thanks,
Wes.

I was told by a local mechanic who has a '66 that you can use parts from a '73-'87 full size truck/van if you change your upper ball joints to match the donor. He got his from a '78 van and took everything from the spindles out. I believe the '70 uses the same frame and suspension as the '64-'66 models.

My 72 has factory disc brakes, so perhaps you could find a donor to pull bits off of.

Thanks WILL64!!!! I was planning on looking in a junk yard for donor parts, and in my area, it would be hard to find a 71 or 72, but trucks from the late 70's are all around.
