on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 34 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 34 | I need ball ends for the pitman arm and stearing arm on a 49 chevy 1 ton.
I thought about ordering this from Jim Carters, part #ME6911N. But it says they are 1/2 ton unless otherwise noted, they aren't noted.
Is there a difference? I assume my trucks balls are larger hahaha. but seriously, where can I find replacements.

don't you just love trucks with bigger balls?!? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 587 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 587 | Good news maybe. Unless you have a COE or Dubl-Duti truck, the steering connecting rod is the same for all trucks in 1949. Which tells me the ball size would be the same. This information is per the 1950 Master Parts Catalog.
As for changing them, I found it beyond my ability, and took them to a machine shop who changed all four for $60 for me. | | |
