Hi there names Shane im 23 and from Vancouver Canada, I just pickup up a 57 1300 a few months back. The truck is from Sask. originally and had been sitting in a barn for 25 years, it has 80,000 original miles on it and is in overall great shape, it even came with the original plates from 1957!, the night I picked her up I threw some plates on her and drove her home from the farm and didnt stop driving all weekend.

I am looking for some info on the truck. what does the 1300 stand for? also it is a long box and I want to make is a short box, does anyone know the measurments for a short box? and are the fenders the same? anyone done such a thing?

the 1300 is the same as the US 3100 - a 1/2T
I've seen the frame shortened, although it's technically illegal to cut frames here in BC - but you'll have a hard time shortening the box - fenders are the same but the box is longer both in front and behind the fenders, so it's a lot of hackin and patchin - easier to find a decent short box for it - short wheelbase is 114" - remember you'll need a shorter driveshaft and different e-brake cables as well

thanks Red. So the 1300 would be a canadian model I assume? Ill send some pics asap. My old man owns Vancouver Stainless Steel so I may look into making a new box from scratch, well see how she goes.

Good to see some other folks with TF trucks in BC - I have a 57 3100 and am out in Chilliwack (though mine is in many pieces and needs a ton of work....)
