The old 1 pot master cyl. we have is dying a slow death. I've been told that we can replace it with several different updated 2 pot ones, but don't know what to look for. I've seen some in the classic parts suppliers books, but you have to buy the master cyl. and then a adapter kit ($150.00 plus frt.). Is there anything a cheap way out?
I want to keep the same peddle.

My '55 1st now has a '73 Chevelle master cylinder using the Chevy Duty adapter, which looks like its the same kit as the cheaper Classic Performance Products adapter.

If you upgrade to a dual master you need to be ready to also change the brake lines to separate the front brakes from the rear.

If you look at your current master it has two lines coming off of it. One line feeds ONLY the left front. The other line feeds the right front and both rears. With a dual master that won't work.

I replumbed mine completely because at the same time I put disk brakes on the front. Bought 25 feet of line and some tools, and it took an entire day to cut, bend and run the lines.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
