Hi,
Would a Chevy Impala 1980 be a good donor to put in a Chevy 1942 Pickup 1/2ton. I am asking this because american spares are seldom availeble in Belgium Europe, and I am able to buy a running cheap impala. I am looking for a brake, rear axle and engine swap Thanks !

The rear axle could be narrowed to fit.

The engine/transmission would go in with fabrication. There are SBC mounts for the swap available, but I do not remember who carries them.

Your Impala driveshaft would need to be shortened to fit.

The front brakes are a good question. There would obviously be some fabrication involved, but what's involved, I don't know.
