As I sit here reading my old parts manual, I wondered to myself! If Chevy Duty in having legal issues with the copyrighted name, what about Chevs Of The 40's and Bowtie Bits. Don't most niche suppliers want to have the name of the car or truck they represent in there logo? As my cousin used to say, "It'll develope".

I would bet that Ron Wade got permission from Chevrolet (General Motors) long ago, if he even needed it, to use "Chevs" in the name of his company. When he started "Chevs of the 40's", I talked to him often and he struck me as a person that was egar to have everything right as he gathered all of the necessary information to start his company.

As far as Bowtie Bits, that is a bit of a stretch for Chevrolet to squawk. I don't remember ever seeing the word "bowtie" used for marketing by Chevrolet or General Motors.

Just my thoughts.

Joe,
Dementia must be setting in. I thought someone in the "ChevyDuty No More" thread had posted a link to a page showing all the copyrighted names GM had, and I would have sworn that Bowtie was one of them.. It is a mystery.
