I want to put power brakes on my 48 3/4 Ton. All I can find are for 1/2 Tons. Does anybody know if these units will work on a 3/4 Ton? I have E-mailed Suppliers with this Question with no response.

I would think they could be used, but better listen to someone who realy knows.
Or buy he gear box and make your own mount.
I converted my 1 ton with a IH Scout box, not very hard.

I have a 59 1 ton and I got mine from ECI

www.ecihotrodbrakes.com (i think that is right)

They took the time to see what I needed and put together a package for me. Quality stuff too.

That along with kevlar linings on my fronts from:

www.praisedynobrakes.com

really gave my truck improved brakes.

I used ECI for my 51. They were very helpful, when calling.

Hello,
Sorry about my earlier post, I had it in my head that this was about power steering not brakes......

For my 52 1 ton I used a kit from http://www.hydroboost.com/
to convert to a hydrobooster, (runs off a power steering pump), still under the floor.

Give Paul a call and ask about the kit he put together for Grigg's 1952 Chevy truck.
I can send you some pictures if you want, or check my page on this site, there may be one on there.

I can't say enough about Paul and the service he provides. He was able to answer any questions I had. I bought a rebuilt booster from him, a few thousand miles later it was leaking slightly, so I called him up. I was driving near his shop, he made time to personally exchange my leaking one for a completely new unit, instillation and all. (he no longer offers rebuilt units, only new ones)

My brakes are great, I just look at the pedal and the truck slows. I don't think you can beat a hydrobooster.

This is just a guess, but I would think you could use the same set up on a one half ton that was used on the larger trucks. The General used so many of the same parts on all his trucks that it would seem you could fit a Hydrovac on with not much problem. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? Allen
