I'm converting my 46 Chev 1/2 ton over to a set of modern shocks as the old lever style shocks are shot. I welded a set of universal lower mount brackets onto the rear axle and am going to weld a crossmember on top for the top mounts. Does anyone know how do I determine the proper shock to mount. Do I measure the length. A chassis rebuild book says they have to be mounted a minimum of 30 degrees of angle and 20% of further travel beyond the frame sitting level on the leafsprings. Any info would be appreciated. bobt
