I wonder about the engine casting number on my 54 6400 truck. The stamp on the pad behind the distributor reads "0021425 F54P". From inliners.org, the "F54P" part is shown to appear on a 3701481, or a 235 c.i. engine made in 1954.
That sounds good--I was fairly confident that I had a 235 anyway, but I'm just curious about my number. I was looking for something on the order of 370XXXX or 383XXXX and didn't find it. Inliners and Hemmings didn't have anything like "0021425" from what I read. Did I look in the wrong place, misread, or is that just a different series of 235 made in 1954?

Check this thread for the location of the block casting number.

Thanks again, J.K. | | |
