I just got a 1959 gmc with a badge and a 350 engine with a 4 speed truck tranny. I am wandering if the motor and tranny are installed in a stock fashion. So what i need is good pics of your v8 trucks to see what they look like.

a badge? like a "350" badge? more likely a model number or it was added w/ the 350, which weren't made in 59
don't have a mount pic handy, but the shop manual should tell ya - if it's mounted as original, it's got 2 wimpy lookin pegs from the front of the block to riveted on mounts on the front crossmember, and the bellhouse has ears that mount on the cross member there - the tranny hangs off the bellhouse - more likely w/ the 350, they put a cross member under the engine at the point where the side mounts are, which is a standard aftermarket conversion

here's some good pics of my V8 truck grin

Chevys had a small V on the door, and a large V on the hood ornament, no 8 invloved like this 57 - correct hood trim on my 58 here , I skipped the door ones - I think GMCs had a V right under the GMC on the fender, not sure on the "8" - real trucks are all open drive grin [after 55]
