Guess I forgot, along with some others, to introduce myself. My wife and I retired in 2000. We moved close to the water of Puget Sound and I thought I would get a boat. Sold my 1941 Ford pickup and 1930 Ford Tudor. I have had some GM cars over the years, but have had mostly Fords. I soon realized a boat didn't do for me what the old cars and trucks do so I bought a 1935 Ford pickup to street rod. I then bought a 1951 GMC half-ton pickup for a daily driver and having fun with it. My dear wife is patient with me and my passion for the old cars and has been very supportive. We just finished the 1935 Ford pickup, making it into a very nice street rod, too nice and too much invested to be a daily driver so when I found our GMC I thought it would be a nice addition. Luckily my wife agreed. I'll post pictures soon. I know very little about the older GMC's(although I did own a 1956 GMC 20 years ago) but I am very anxious to learn from all of you. I enjoy the forums, tech sites, and history info. We have three married children and eight grandchildren. Guess that is enough about me. Hope to get acquainted with more of you.

Thanks, Strummer,glad to make your acquanitance as well. I se you are from Redding, Calif. I have a friend who was an electrical contractor in Redding. He might have retired by now. Sure gets hot there in the summer but it is beautiful country. Been through there many times. Do you still have a Hot August Nights car show in Redding? Silver, yea they still have it but it's now Hot April Nights. There's a cruse nite lots of showing off and an official show with tons of great cars in all stages of restoration of just daily drivers! We are actually fairly new to Redding and just now hitting the heat. It was 104 the other day! I have a 1950 1/2 ton chevy that I just figured out is not all 1950. the body, according to the serial number, is a 1952. It's still a bit of a mystery. Haven't had her very long only about 2 months. Finally got it running on Saturday and took it for a few spins around the block and then down to the closest gas station to fill it up and get some air in the tires. It was a blast!!!
