I've heard lots of good things and have been lurking around for awhile and decided to join. I'm thinking about buying a 55 Cameo and would really appreciate it if anyone knew of a site or catalog that listed the specialized tailgate/spare tire parts that Cameos require. Or for that matter, a listing of all of the specialty parts that Cameos require. Supposedly it's all there, but I'd like to make sure! Any and all help greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A google image search my provide a number of cameo images to use as a general guide as to what to look for, but i'd guess your best resource would be the free GM Resto Pack for the Cameo, and/or the GM Service Manual for one.
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

This is the book that was used at the parts counter at the Chevy dealership. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | 3124 is the Cameo model designation - serial numbers are the sequential production number - VIN numbers include 'codes' for identifying the series [1/2T, 3/4T, etc] but not the specific model, and I've never heard Cameos were numbered differently
