Five members/vehicles from our club (including mine) was asked to attend, to set up an antique vehicle display for the race fans. In addition, 3 or 4 other clubs were asked to display vehicles, so ended up with over 95 on display. Did not have any idea this was going to be a judged show, but VERY happy with the results! We all registered, and was given slip of paper to vote on 5 vehicles, not including our own (each vehicle was numbered). They awarded TOP 25, BEST IN SHOW, and AC DELCO TOP PICK, and I was one selected for one of the TOP 25 awards!!!!! Another one of our members vehicles (57 Chev. Hardtop) won a similar award! What a great day, and to top it off, the trophy's were presented by Hooters girls!!!!!!! AWWW, the icing on the cake! A great feeling to have come home with my first trophy on Dusty--one I will cherish. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 703 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 703 | Congratulations Brian. From the looks of your truck, it was well deserved.
Kind of makes all of those cold days out in the garage worth it after all, doesn't it.
In my opinion, the best part is that you were able to drive it there and back (NO trailer queens) and still walk away with an award. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | good going from a previous trophy winner(I was lucky on both of them) but I did not get any hooter queens to present them to me..................makes you feel proud....just to show you that good guys can win in black,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 394 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 394 | Congrats Brian. now the next thing to build is a trophy case, make sure you make it big enough good looking truck, you should be adding a lot more to the collection..good work..mike j | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | Congratulations.
