I am doing a 56 chevy truck. It has a 235 I6 in her. What color were the engines back then for this year ?

hay Jason! good year ya found there! but then I'm partial to the task force trucks - here\'s one take on engine colors - seems either gray or green, tho' I think the green was in bigger trucks

Hi Jason:

Whatever you do don't paint it using clear enamel.

I painted my 270 CID GMC engine with clear enamel and the engine's clear now and I can't find it to put back in the truck!

Jason, assuming yours is a pick-up it had a gray colored engine. That is a Thriftmaster. The larger trucks had Jobmaster paint schemes. They remained gray up to 62'.
