For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 16 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 16 | I just purchased a 49' Chevy pickup that I am planning on doing a total restoration on. I am not looking to keep it original, shooting for more Classic Hotrod. It rusty and doesn't run, but I think all the parts are there. I have lots of welding and fabrication experience, but have never redone an old vehicle before. I have read the Tom Brownell Chevy book cover to cover a few times, I have also read a good amount of posts on this site, I will have it in the garage within a few weeks and looking forward to getting into it. Any advice/reading/machine shops. I would like to do the whole thing, but don't have any engine/transmission experience. I am in Monterey Ca. and it anyone is local I would like to hear from. Good part places, swap meets, mechanics, car clubs. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | welcome to the bolt. a lot of members from your state, you will have a lot of help here,regards..Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 285 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 285 | Welcome aboard!
