The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Front crossmember swap ?

am thinking of replacing the frontend of my 59 apache for a complete frontend from a 82 c10.
Is this something anyone have tried. After a qick look I know I have to extend the crossmember, but will it the hight fit? I can not weld on the frame, as it is illegal here in Norway, and it have to look sort of orginal. :confused:

Welding cannot be done here either on the frame.
Or it can be but it cannot be grinded down.

But pretty much it must be left alone.

Its nice to have a fellow Scandinavian with us.
Especially on this Native side of the Atlantic.

Sorry ! I want to swap the hole suspension to get a nicer ride. I already have the disc brake kit, but think the coiled springs and A arms would work better as a everyday driver.
