ya have to debone the birds - wrap it up and cook until done - then all the juices run together...
I've read that it is really good.
This is the first time I've read about the hot dog addition, but... makes sense.

I always remember seeing that big ole bird during the thanksgiving NFL games - looked funny with 6 legs sticking out one end. Sure looks good though....

This might be considered a valid posting since I was going to be driving my suburban to deliver the dressing to a dinner with many friends who helped restore my '54 suburban. Turducken Turducken, the Cajun specialty from the south central part of Louisiana, contains three boned birds and three stuffings: a 20-25 pound turkey stuffed with a 4-5 pound duckling, stuffed with a 3-4 pound chicken with three cups oyster dressing inside the chicken, 7 cups andouille dressing between the chicken and the duck and 4 cups cornbread dressing between the duck and the turkey. Other typical dressings include shrimp or sausage. A little Turducken history. It might even be correct for this example of engastration.
