a lot of farmers in the midwest put their old trucks on the auction block when they retire, get sold out, or just quit farming. usually any older farmer has every truck he ever owned and they just pull/drive it out of the weeds or barn for the sale. i am going to a farm sale tuesday that has at least 5 stovebolt trucks on the sale bill. i am going to look at them tonight after work and will snap a few pics. i found a site that lists a lot of farm auctions in the midwest. there a a lot more auctions than this site lists, but it has a bunch.

Awier, what part of NE are you in? I've been watching that web-site and drooling over the 53 that goes on the block on the 30th. It's out by Lincoln somwhere, probably a little bit further than I want to travel for a maybe, but I would sure be interested in knowing what they sell that truck for, and the cars as well. Anyone else going to attend?

I know where lots of old pickups and grain trucks are. Wish I'd win the lottery, I would buy a plot of land to park them all on, then start rounding them up....

i am in McCook, southwest corner of Nebraska. what '53 is on the block the 30th. i didn't see an auction for that date. i stare at this screen eight hours a day and can't see straight after about noon though.

i may get to buy a few on tuesday, we'll see how they sell. the auction is by McCook, i have loads of land for storage and i can come up with some crap to tell the wife about needing them for parts or something.

Oops, my bad, I guess it was January 30th. Too bad, I hope someone got a deal. He supposedly had a 53 half-ton bought brand new with 28,000 original miles on it. Sure would like to know what it went for... McCook, that's up by Ender's isn't it? You gonna have any water this summer? We try and get up that way with the boat from time-to-time. this is a link to a few pictures i took of the big bolt that are selling on action feb 8th. not really "barn fresh". the one with the later style grill has a small block in it. did they evere put those in the advanced design trucks? the 1955.5 or later style truck is in fair shape.

Canyonag77:I would do the same thing,,then start a business selling parts,,so my Fellow Stovebolter's could Keep their trucks on the road...BTW...anyone thought of starting a Truck dealership,,restoring,,rebuilding..(strictly 47-55 Chev/Gmc)???...I wish this dream would come true....
