So since the 59 gives me no trouble and noticing that I was shakin like a turkey in november whenever I saw an old rusty garbage can or oil drum, I knew I needed another hulk to pound on. First project was a 1947 CJ2A Jeep given to me by TJ, the previous owner of my 59. He liked what I did with the truck so much he gave me the scrap pile he called a jeep.

So neighbor comes by to see what the he.. is going on in my garage as I am whalin on the jeep bumper with a sledge and I offer him $100 for the 72 C-10 sitting out back of his place. Its his son's truck and son started that project when I started on the 59. Mine's been good for a year. His is still where it was after some body work. 2 weeks later, offer accepted! Just what I needed! The good news is that neighbor also has a 92 lumina rolling junk pile that I am to fix and sell and split proceeds 50-50. So if I can squoze a few hundred out of that deal, the 72 will effectively be free. 72 needs a motor and tranny. Had a 350, but I'd druther a 6.

That jeep is sure coming along!!! The engine is looking good! How did you paint it? What kind of paint did you use? That chev is also in quite good condition, especially for $100!!!! wow...wish I could stumble upon some of those....good luck

Its the absolute best rattle can paint you can get. I heartly endorse Duplicolor paints as carried by O'Reily. The main difference in their rattle cans is that they have a fan spray head rather than the turd spot that you get with Krylon cans. The fan can even be turned horizontal or vertical. Sometimes the push buttons leak, but I can lay down paint almost as good as an HVLP once I know what the can is going to do.

This is duplicolor DE 1613 gloss black high heat ceramic engine paint good for 500 degrees (or so it sez). That oil filter tank leaked and this thing having been driven through the "sands of the kalahari" (and after becoming baboon king) had a good 1/4" layer of filth on it. But nothing the 1" cable disc and cup brushes on a 7 amp grinder couldn't take off. Just be prepared to get dirty.
