I need (well, want) to ship a truck cab from California to Minnesota (dad's house) or Wisconsin (my home) but have no idea what to do. Costs? Who? Etc.
Anyone have advice?

I've used Yesterdays tractors to post my hauling needs. Had a 37 1 1/2 ton grain truck shipped from North Dakota to Cental New York Cheap! Got a dozen replies to my post too... It might even be cheaper if it was on some kind of rolling dolly. It would seem too big for a pallet.

What would you guess would be the cost of shipping a rolling chassis from Central TX to Albany, NY? I would like to start a new project and AZ or TX seem like nice dry places to find a project vehicle.

It was probally the best load that F**d ever carried. I bet it made the cab feel like a king being carried by a F**d! :p 1,800 miles round trip, but man it was a great weekend! 2 guys, bleeding eyes, bad coffee and a "truck Part" as my wife called it! She still tells folks I drove across the country to get a "truck part". | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 543 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 543 | Try BAX shipping. They specialize in shipping outsized auto parts, especially engines, body parts, cabs, and so forth. BAX.

The cheapest would be a running car, then a chassis or non running car, a big crated cab would be the most expensive unless it was a smaller trucking company set up for such a thing. The handling is the expensive part. It needs to get loaded and unloaded numerous times before reaching it's destination.

I ship things often this way. The only downfall is that the person you are buying the cab from and yourself have to have a way of loading and unloading the cab from the flatbed.
