I don't know how this happend nor what to do about it. The engine and trans mount bolted right up to were they go so I don't see how they could be off or where to get the extra 3/4" I need to hook up the driveshaft | | |

Doesn't the driveline have a spline joint in it? Or the tranny has a splined yoke on the back of it . . . either way pull on the splined joint and the U-Joint should bolt right up. If it doesn't slide (telescope) easily, you should disassemble, clean and grease. | | |

On engine, trans, and most of all the mid-ship bearing to allow some adjustment or less tolerance in alignment when assembling on the plant line. I take it you did not remove shaft first and pulled engine and trans out as one peice? Anyway, loosen the mid-ship bearing at it's mount on x-over and it should move enough maybe. The slip joint is usually only on the last part of driveshaft and front part stays still. May have to loosen engine and trans mounts and try to slide it back a little. Won't be much for sure!
