I just bought a 1959 gmc 100 long bed, step side, the one with the v8. About 3 years ago i built a 1950 gmc long bed frame and am wondering if it will work under my new 1959

Anything will fit with enough modification,but it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

so is the length or width different or the wheelbase, or what

The 59 has a straight frame,and the 50 frame narrows at the front.The steering gear will be in the way of the v8 and the cross member will not fit the bell housing.

And besides that the cab mounts are not anywhere near the same. And they won't fit to move them from one to the other.
