While looking over the Tech Tips section for 56-59 Trucks, under "Deciphering your VIN", something caught my eye. It stated that the Production Order started with #000001. I checked my Restoration Packet that I had received from General Motors for my 56, and it states that the number started with #001001 at each plant, regardless of series. Which is correct?

Thanks for the catch, Brian. I'll go fix the typo. Actually, the source I used for that info had the same typo wink

John

Thanks Brian -- The typo was carried over from the reference I used for those years.

As for the Series info, I got most of that from a couple of faxes Barry Weeks sent me. So if I go blind from trying to read barely legible faxes, it's all Barry's fault. Seriously, couldn't have done it with out Barry.

Yeah John, faxes don't always come through the best. I had a real crappy fax machine, but have a much better one now!
