Have a 74 IH Holley 2bbl carb. Tore apart today to rebuild. Float bowl had real small head phillips screws shown. Had to use small punch to start turning them to get off. First one came out with a long spring on it! Huh? Second one came out with 1/2" long screw, with sheet metal like threads on it! Huh? Come to find when all apart was adapters with machine threads at body of carb, 4-2" long "springs" or ? held to adapters with sheet metal threads on that end, then the screws with shoulders and sheet metal threads on outer end. Clear as Mud? What are they? Aftermarket or stock? Reason not just screws like any other one I've had apart? This is on Big truck carb with governor, not sure model number of carb at this time. I've never seen such a thing and have had lots of Holley's apart before. It's got me stumped what and why of them.
