I saw Jim Carter's kit which says 49 and older in the text, but 36-49 next to the part number. Anyone purchased their kit? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,377 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,377 | I bought one for my 37 but I have not installed it,if you are going to keep the original steering its the kit to use as its designed for the front shocks to angle out towards the front of the truck to clear the draglink. I will be installing the kit when I get a dropped front axle and change the rearend and trans to a 5 speed and S10 4x4. All you really want are the brackets. The bottom is bolt in. The top one I cut 1 inch out of the middle and welded it back together. As the top bolt for the shock will hit the inner fender and this drops it below that. It bolts in where the lever action was. Then I got a set of short shocks from Pete and Jakes as I had put in monoleafs. You would just get a set the length you need. You don't need there bolt kit as I think the car frame was boxed and uses longer bolts. | | |
