I can see all three (my two and your one). But that is nothing new. I've posted pictures before that I can see but nobody else can. I use Yahoo/ameritech to host my photos. I posted the above photos without logging in to Yahoo just to see if it made a difference. Can you see them?

Gotta love that Grill!!

I'm following the direction to a tee and still no go. Does anybody have experience or tips in posting photos that are on Yahoo photos? I know you all can open my yahoo photo album below because some have e-mailed me. Is there something in Yahoo I should be doing to get links to work or should I just find another host?

This is really strange because I can see my photos on this post at home but I can't see them at work.

Tim

You probably have server space with your ISP account. I would place the photo there.

Tim, I think you can see those yahoo photo's on your home computer and nowhere else is because you're viewing them from your cache file. All the images from all web pages that you surf through are stored on the cache for faster surfing when you return to those certain pages.

Sody54chev's '54 is in the gallery . You've gotta read his story. It's a hoot and a half. Too bad we don't have a little smiley face rolling in the isles.

Well, Sody, when you send in an upate to your gallery submission, I can change the "lead." The funny part was the "female intervention" grin grin

You guys ....

I'm a newbie here but here's a little info that may help clear things up..at least a little.
This information is provided as is with no warranty of any kind grin

I do not believe you can do what you're trying to do with Yahoo Photos. You are trying to "deep link" to an image stored on their servers. Yahoo does not want you to do that because it bypasses all their ads to sell you things-which is the only reason they provide the hosting for the pics.

I'm not sure exactly how they do it but from having tried to figure it out in the past my suggestion is don't..all I got was a headache frown
They seem to obfuscate and change the url of the image based on unknown criteria ..or block the domain resolution if not coming in the proper format or something..but the correct url seems to change from computer to computer.

So long story short if you want to "deep link" to a photo you might want to host them somewhere else as someone else suggested. It seems Steppenwood is using www.villagephotos.com which apparently allows deep links. If your ISP offers web space that's another option as someone else mentioned.

You already have a lot of work done on your yahoo photo setup so you might not want to redo that somewhere else..that's your call. I don't know if yahoo does the same thing to individual pages - meaning I'm not sure if you can link to a particular page or not..I haven't tried it in a while.

Dang I went on longer than I wanted to on my first post. I hope this helps - I know how frustrating your problem is because I ran into it a while ago and it drove me batty. I'll try to be brief and not ramble on in future posts. grin

Rather than posting an image, can you just use the link. Lots of other Bolters do that and people do click on to go check out their pictures.

That's better than nothing.

What lurkalot said is right on. You will have the same problem if you post pictures on the Angelfire site. Your ISP may povide you with "free" web space; mine does and that's where my pictures go.

Thanks everybody for your responses. Lurkalot, thanks for the good info and welcome to the bolt!!! Peggy, I'll take your suggestion and post links. I know how to do that! As for my "collection" of photos, I may be moving them anyhow. I might be changing from DSL to Cable in the next few weeks anyhow. Ultimately I would like to set up a web page and place the photos out there and begin to put information on my truck as well. Kind of along the lines of the book "what not to do" that is in another post. I'm going soooo slow with my truck I'm learning more than I imagined I ever would.

Thanks again
Tim
