ive got a 55 second series 3100 pickup. the cab on the truck is in rough shape, with the door posts and cab corners rusted out. i have located a 1958 chevy cab, and i was wondering if this would work as a replacement for the cab on my truck. also i was wondering if the fenders and hood from my 55 will bolt onto the 58 cab. any advice would be appreciated. thank you. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | hay there!! welcome to the garage! the cabs are basicly the same but the problem you'll find with that switch is that the hood hinges are different and the mount holes for'em are slightly different, so yes, it can work, but expect to have to struggle to get those hinges mounted so the front sheet metal all fits well - might be as easy [and no more spendy] to fix the pillars and corners as there are good patch panels available for both areas, and the 58 cab prolly will need help there as well
