The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Spark Plug change

I was changing my spark plugs, and here's what happened -

1st plug - take off L-bent wire, take out plug, replace with new plug
2nd plug - take off L-bent wire, take out plug, replace with new plug
3rd plug - take off straight (no bend) wire, and WHAT!? a completely different size spark plug - doen't even look like the other one. Also, the wire took about 20 minutes of pulling to get it off. Now, I can't get my socket on the wire, to pull it out. Is this a problem, that it's different than all the others? I'm thinking this could be why it's making little small backfires.

not the expert, but if I ran across that I'd suspect a po had put a hotter plug in one cyl to take care of some problem like oil fouling - the socket not fitting just means it's a different size - there's a variety of socket sizes for various plug types/manufacturers - the lack of elbow on the wire just means that one wire was replaced seperate from the set, or maybe it just fits the space easier that way - if plug wires don't come off right away, try twisting first to break it loose, then pull

Alright, I'll do that. I'm kind of worried that the wire might be too big for the new plug...hopefully not
