For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 Member | | Member Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 | A friend of mine who is a F**D guy has a near mint set of Art Deco caps with beautiful original paint hanging in his building. I asked him about selling them and he said yes for $75. Is that a lot for caps that are ready to just put on. The only thing I saw that they needed was wiping the dust off. I've never seen any so nice. He says they've been hanging there for 20 yrs. or so.

The 3 that were on my truck looked great until I took them off and found the back sides rotted too. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 Member | | Member Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 | I'll check them out real good before buying.

One were priced too high at $50. Rough on the side that shows and lots of rust on the other.
The other were probably priced fairly at $100 with very little corrosion inside, some minor diings, and some missing paint. I almost bought them, but I'm no where near needing them, so I passed them up.
And for those paying attention, yes I do plan to put Art Deco hub caps on my Advance Design truck.

I only took one down and looked at the inside and it looked good. There were no scratches, dings, or dents and the paint on 2 of them looked just like brand new, the other 2 were good with just a little minor fading on the red. All were good enough to clean up and run just the way they are.
