The the trany is not quite so original. It is a turbo 350 automatic.
Anyone have a fix for this?
Bear | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 445 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 445 | the stock cable and housing should fit up to the 350 tranny.just have to change the odometer gear so the speed odonmeter reads correct.They.the gear comes in different colors.a shop that checks odometers can fix ya up.if not you maybe 5 or 10mph over or under. Use the mile markers on the highway to check.Once ya got the tire size your going to use.Also watch the tack RPM it will put you in the ball field

| | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 476 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 476 | You can just take the speedo and the output gear & housing from the tranny down to the local auto parts store to get a cable figured out. Then, time it with mile-markers and a good watch the way dan-pa is saying. At 60MPH, 1 mile = 1 minute. that will tell you how much error you have, then back to the auto parts store for the correct output gear for the tranny.
Be advised, if you jump too many gear sizes, the housing piece changes too. Be sure you end up with the right speedometer drive gear housing to hold the output gear in the transmission.
