It seems like I read somewhere 1969 was the last year for a V-6 in a GMC pickup. It was a small number though. Anyone know for sure?

P.S. im sure they lived on in the bigger bolts into the 70s. and the reason they stopped puttin them into the smaller bolts was twofold, they just were almost indestructable provided they had good oil press. and second the gas mileage. regards steve sr.

I came across a brochure on Ebay for the 1969 model year that shows the V-6 as an option. Thanks for all the replies.

69 was the last year for the V-6 (305E and 351E)in light trucks although it could be dealer-installed for a few years after that. They do seem to be pretty rare after 68 though. It was used in the big trucks until 74.

Thanks for the reply Fred. I've been going to Jolly's site for the last 31/2 years. Alot of good info. BobS I thought that was right. I've been looking for a 60-66 but most are too far away to justify the ttrip. What I find around here are restoration projects. So I was thinking about searching for a 67 and up GMC with a V-6 but I didn't know the last year for it in a pickup. Many thanks to you both.
