on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 | It seems like I read somewhere 1969 was the last year for a V-6 in a GMC pickup. It was a small number though. Anyone know for sure? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 608 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 608 | kwf... for what its worth, i def know of an original 68 3/4 ton with a 305 v/6 my buddy jerry had 15 yrs ago. regards steve sr. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 608 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 608 | P.S. im sure they lived on in the bigger bolts into the 70s. and the reason they stopped puttin them into the smaller bolts was twofold, they just were almost indestructable provided they had good oil press. and second the gas mileage. regards steve sr. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 | Thanks for the reply Steve. They do seem to be pretty rare after 68 though. It was used in the big trucks until 74. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 | Thanks for the reply Fred. I've been going to Jolly's site for the last 31/2 years. Alot of good info. BobS I thought that was right. I've been looking for a 60-66 but most are too far away to justify the ttrip. What I find around here are restoration projects. So I was thinking about searching for a 67 and up GMC with a V-6 but I didn't know the last year for it in a pickup. Many thanks to you both. | | |
