i am planning on lowering my truck using just springs. The rear springs appear to be easier. Is it required to compress the springs to install them in the rear? Or do they fit right in when you lift the truck up? The fronts look quite a bit more difficult. What is required to intall new springs in the front? thanks

I put 3" drop springs on the rear of my 64 and did not compress anything. Just me and a jack.

I also replaced all the hardware with new grade 8 and installed an adjustable panhard bar. The adjustable panhard bar is a MUST if going 4" or more.

Not sure about the front...my buddy did that for me when he installed the drop spindles, discs, sway bar, etc.

ok that gets me through the back i am planning a 4 inch drop in the back and 2 inch drop in the front. That should equal out the ride height. Does anyone know if you have to take a control arm off or anything special to get the spring in their? It doesnt look like the spring will fit right in there? thanks!
