I posted earlier about a grill guard on a 47 Chevy truck called Smash Hit made by Perry Company in Waco Texas. Still trying to find out how old it is or if it was a common add-on. Appears to be made of stainless tubing and is about as tall and wide as the whole front end. Any info out there? thanks

They were really common around here. I think they made them into the '70s. I have one on my '55 first. I don't know when they were first made. The design changed several times over the years.

The Perry Company still exists and is on Web. Do a search. I bought a Ford last year with bumper from them, said Perry Co, and Huntington, which is where I live. There is a Huntington Tx apparantly.
You guys and your bumper guards!!! That's first thing I rip off the old AD's. I sold mine for $100, and it wasn't even all that clean with rust, sheesh! I hate "Add-on" trash like that. Same truck had a spotlight, had to rip that off too and sold it. Makes for a big hole though!
