at last I have found the correct shock for patrick's front single leaf lowering ....the number is 82049 gabriel classic, you can purchase at auto-zone for 13.95 each rather then the 69.95 pair plus shipping from patrick's,,, also , after much research by a lot of our bolters, six cylineder over tx, shooper, norselander,shipwright and others I got it, been ordered tonight and should get it Friday,, no one . not even patrick could tell me what this shock was org. stock equipment on,,,,,, it is on a 70 halfton international pick-up,, just like the one I have at my country place,, who would have thought it..Fred

I pulled one of mine off my truck and went to the Auto Zone near my house and with the help of a good parts counter guy, got new shocks for my 37. The key word here is "GOOD". You have to be lucky to get parts counter help that is interested in your project and willing to help you. Also, check your old shocks for a name or part number. Even though it may be old or if the number is discontinued, they may have a replacement number.  Good luck!! Joe

Take one front and one rear and go the FLAPS and match them up. I recently used a set of rear shocks from my folk's '84 F-150 on the rear of the '51. They worked great.

It was about $30 for both. The rears for my 3/4 ton were from the Gabriel classic line and were about $35 each. I've put over 20,000 miles on them, and they're still working good. www.gabriel.com catalog shows 81270 front and 82066 rear.

I had to ask for '54 GMC rear shocks because the book didn't go back to '50 on the rears for the Chevy, but I ended up with Gabriel Red Ryders all the way around. They were only about $50 for all of them. Sorry I don't remember the numbers.
