For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 | If you have...what kind do you have? I'm thinkin' about gettin' a pair for my daily driver. Where I live is rural, outside of town anyway, and for most of the Fall & Winter months the substandard roadways that we have usually have a coat of mud on 'em, many with no shoulder, just pave to a ditch on each side and poorly marked. I'm lookin' at a set that's used on semi's, mounted above the bumper and are made out of stainless and have louvres inside, pointing a little downward. Any opinions or thoughts?

They point slightly outward and do a nice job of illuminating the edges of the road. They dont make much of a difference in viewing distance but they definitely improve overall visibility. You could say the difference is "night and day".

If I get 'em I'll use a lighted switch w/relay and only use 'em to keep my my truck from being an "off road" vehicle, LOL. The kind I looked at were on a retired semi driver's p/u. Even though they're made for semi's they look good and let you see good, according to the old trucker friend.

I forgot about Unity...I'll check 'em out. BTW, in case anybody's interested ,on Ebay I urned up a pair each or 6v & 12v nos what they called, firetruck/bus lights, red lens on one side & amber on the other. They look like after market turning signal lamps. They don't appear to be glass lens nor do they have the arrow in the lens but they might be good for someone here. I found them by looking at a retailers web site and noticed the N.O.S button which took me to ebay. Thanks Koolkar, Jacques

I couldn't remember the name and was going to call him for the name again. It doesn't matter but I'll be putting them on my '86 daily driver rather than on the '46, but I'm startin' to imagine them on the '46, too! My friend told me he bought his at a truck stop in Wyoming and said that they're hard to find. Thanks again, Jacques
