Has anyone replaced their front seat with a newer
modern seat? I read somewhere that a 3rd row seat
from Expedition's fit perfect. If anyone has any info please advise. Thanks

Funny you should ask....If you've been watching my posts on the E and D, I have a 91 S-10 I have been shredding today....It had a nice blue seat in it that measured up about right...My old seat stinks...and the stuffing is coming out making it like riding on pins.....I gave the blue S-10 seat a whirl and to my surprise, it slid right in. Not sure if I am going to keep it forever, but it will work until the stock one gets re-done....low on the list a this point....you will have to make a mount to hold the new seat in place..but it did not look like it was going to be a problem.

When I bought the truck it had bucket seats that
didn't fix or look good. So I bought a Caravan
middle seat that fits and looks good but its a fixed seat. So today I bought a 2000 3rd row Expedition Seat (Leather) like new and it folds down. Sure hope it works out ok. If not I'm going into the seat business. lol Thanks for any
info.

I can confirm the third row from an expedition fits perfectly. I only had it sitting in there to store it. I had no intent of actually installing it. I posted photos under my link in the "My 46 chevy" photo album.

I'm running a split 60/40 bench out of a late 80s Ford Ranger 'Extended Cab' pickup (minus the seat sliders). This seat had no factory head rest which is perfect for this truck, width is perfect and now just flip a lever to access area back of seat. I had to make a wooden platform and notch out for the gas filler to mount the seat, not a big deal. If you want to email me, I should have a photo somewhere deap in my files. jimerit@charter.net
