I am in an ASP.NET class, developing webpages. My project through the class will be a website for my truck. Do you have a good picture of the hood ornament for a 1947 AD? I thought that might make a good home page header.

Thanks,
Brad

Fred, I don't know. I thought they were the same for a few years in there. I would just take a picture of mine, but unfortunately, it is missing.

Oh, and another thing, since I'm airing my wish list. Here's a picture of my truck. It started life as a fuel tanker at an airport in the south. I have heard that there were many like it. The orange color is because it was owned by Gulf Oil. I would love to find a picture of one in the gulf oil livery, performing its original job, or even sitting on a flight line ready to go. I know it's a long shot, but what the heck. Somebody may have an old photo. Even a B&W would thrill me.

Seems I don't know what I am talking about. I was speaking of the emblem, badge or whatever it is called that is on the front of the hood just above the grille. You can see one in the picture Norse supplied. You can see that it is missing on my truck. I looked through the linked pages, but don't see one.

A. What is it called?

B. Anybody got a good picture of one?

By the way, cool Gulf Oil historical site. They don't have a picture of a truck like mine, but I will definitely contact them with my story and a picture. Funny, I googled and surfed for an hour or so one night and didn't find it. It must have been lost in the ground clutter.

BradB. If it's the hood emblem you're looking for, try a search for Jim Carter in E-Bay. He's always got them listed and has a pretty good frontal picture in his listing. He also has about the best price I've found. Something like $39.95 or?
