blue 50,

I think your Vehicle Identification Number means:

3 = St. Louis, MO
H = 1950
P = 3100 (1/2 ton) series
C = March (build month)
9856 = basic production number = 9856-1000 = 8856th truck off the line that year (I think)

Hey Blue 50, I live about a 125 miles south of St Louis in Southern Illinois. I saw 9' bed truck that was at the Anna Swap Meet this spring, looked like a fine start to a great pld truck if it was the same.

Near Lick Creek south on I-57, I was gonna go to the DuQuion meet but my youngest had a soccer game and some other stuff. I think that old blue 9 footer looks good. See lots of short bed trucks but that old rig has a class of its own. I try to make the local shows, got a red 67 impala ragtop & a 39 chevy coupe thats "clearly unfinished". My 56 PU isn't likely gonna be on the road for a while. Maybe I'll see you at a show. Good Luck Truckin...Steve

Joe, I won't be able to make it, being a single parent dad puts priorities on my wild man and his plans. Large Marge cracks me up...Saw your pictures a while ago on another forum. What a fine beast she is! No doubt she'll be even sweeter when she's all tarted up with paint and stuff. Thanks for the heads up on the meet. Steve
