How far into the tailshaft should the slip yoke go? I have transplanted a 700r4 into the truck and I am needing to get the driveshaft cut to fit and I want to be sure about the yoke. I have dropped the front 3.5" and 4" in the back. I don't know if the lowering makes a diff.

Lowering can /will make a difference
Take a measurement with the truck loaded with weight on it and with the rear end hanging at full extension. (measure from the yoke to the rear of the tranny)
You will want to have at least 3/4 to 1 inch away from the bottoming out of the tranny output shaft to the inside of the slip-yoke
