any bolter close to Pittsburg Tx, we bought a lot 18 yrs ago, never been there since, got a certified letter today from property assoc, at Hidden Village trying to collect fee for maint.never have signed anything,,at any rate should anyone live close by would you drive by and see if this place is as such and what does it look like now, it is about 4 hour drive from me,, no big deal but...Fred

My truck is from the Gladewater area. I bought it on the east side of Lake Tawakoni. I lived in Winnsboro for two years and worked in Quitman. In the spring Quitman has an old car festival. It is a lot of fun with lots of old cars and good food. The Pittsburg area is pretty. Drive your truck out and take a look. They make some tasty hot links in Pittsburg. But you may want to wait. While you are out there you can pick up your Christmas tree. There are a lot of tree farms out that way.

Dennis, thanks , sounds like a good idea, it is only 122 miles from mesquite to pittsburg, I thought that it was more .. from winnsboro to pittsburg is only 21 miles..so that would only be a total of 144 or so miles..I will let you know for sure by Thursday of next week if I am going,,,if so maybe we could hook up..regards..Fred

you could be right, it is a long story on why I bought it,so I will not go into it,,I hope that the area is done by now, going to be one of those lake resorts,,I told carolyn I was going that way to the swap/car meet and then drive by and put a for sale sign on it, could make you a real good deal on it,, a lot of nice pine trees and such..it only took me 5 yrs to pay it off and I will be glad to take the loss, I will try to remember to take a pix of it when I go,,thanks for the response,,boy, your yanks were tough last night, thinking about installing a clipp and 350 with air in mine,, what do you think,,,,Fred

Yea half ton...unless the 3/4 ton can come with the shortbed as well....I dont like that long bed on the 3/4 tons....Id really dont want to pay more then 1500 either.......If I could find such truck

Pittsburg is about 12 miles from me , so I would be glad to help. There is a winery over in Pittsburg also if anyone is interested in that? I am also planning on going to Winnsborro , we go just about every year.

willnelle, I think that it is a trade day, swap meet and car show,from Friday thru Sunday,, I plan on attending Sat oct 23,, should be there around 8:30, the show is in Winnsboro and not Pittsburg,, just a short drive from there,, hope to see you and other Tx bolters there,,glad to have you aboard the bolt,,regards..Fred

Joker, this looks like a nice little area. Are you sure you want to sell? Take the little lady with you along with a trailer and spend a weekend. There is a lot of info on the net, I included one site that may help. Let's hope that it's the same place and not the toxic dump

I didn't know that Lake Monticello was connected to Lake Bob Sandlin. Even if it is a dam. Monticello is a cooling lake for a power plant. The water is real warm. They have a great educational facility on a peninsula.

I grew up in the Monticello community . There are actually three lakes each separated by a darn , Monticello , Bob Sandlin and Cypress Springs.
Alot of people in the DFW area have summer homes here which helps my A/C business some in the summer! The Autumn Trails event is a Parade , car show and a small swap meet which is more like a smal flea market. The parade starts at 10:30 but is best to get there early. The parade ends up stopping downtown where they close the street and have a show , where you will see the most Model A 's that I have ever seen along with Thunderbirds ,55-57 Chevys, a few AD'S, musclecars and so much more. The folks have a good time throwing candy to the kids and honking their Ooga horns as they go along the parade route. Hope to see you there , bring the family and have a great time!
