Oh man, how I long for the German sausage in the WI autumn countryside, tailgating before a big football game. I can smell it now, boiled in beer and poppin' on the grill. Wait, I still do that, just in WA instead of WI!

Kool-enjoy a sweet blessing with extra brown mustard and kraut. Life is good!

WELL NOW-----------!!!! came in from the doc late, fired up the behemoth grill, tossed on a half dozen thick cut chops, and 4 whole brats. liberal sprinkling of garlic powder, set the flame on low, and in 45 minutes-----HEAVEN!!!!

toasted a big ol' bun, laid a brat on it, and carried the thing in the house like i wuz toting the holy grail, gingerly laid this cullinery work of art on the table and laid the mustard on it. then the topped it off with nothing less than ambrosia---a THICK coating of JALAPENO RELISH!!!!

what occured next was close to the book of reVelations-----no wailing---no moaning--BUT PLENTY OF GNASHING OF TEETH!!

MANO,MANO,MANOMAN!!!!

PLENTY GOOD STUFF!

YOU A LUCKY GUY TONY!!!!!!!! grin

Dave and anyone else. If you love hot pepper relishes, they are very easy to make. Get a few green and red peppers(4) and onions (3), than as many hot peppers(10 Jalapenos) that you can afford from the super market.Chop everything up as small or as course as you like it.You can use grinder or choppers. WEAR GLOVES and do not wipe your eyes under any circimstances. Breath shallow.
Now just throw all that in a pot with 2 1/2 cups sugar and 2 1/2 cups of cider vinagar. Cook it for about 20 minutes or longer if you want and that is all there is to it. You can 'can' it while it is hot but, it won't last that long because you will be eating it every day til it is gone. Refrigerating will be just fine. I think it is worth the effort, as there are not too many people that don't like it.
Dave, if you try it you won't have to gaurd that little half pint with your life. smile
