Didn't get a good look at the front of the truck, so don't know if it was a 55-56-57, but it had a side mount spare tire carrier (just like my 56) with a chrome cover around the tire. The 1940 COE also the best looking year. I never really liked the art deco but recently changed my mind when a fellow member here turned me on to one locally that is a beatiful truck. It is now sitting in my driveway.
One the topic that started this thread-
I was driving on I-80 today north of sacramento toward reno and passed a 1941 GMC suburban tith clamshell doors on the rear.( did not even know gmc made a suburban that era). It was on a trailer with a late 20's or early thirties truck as well. The plates on the dodge pulling it all were from canada. Anybody here?
