It was a fairly good one around here. I leave John to report. Give him something to do at his lunch break. Peg ---- Woogeroo Edit : this thread was started by BIG CHEVY 3600, with the topic, What did you get done on your bolt today???? on 11/28/2008. I later merged some older threads of a similar nature into that thread... the old 'weekend report' threads. Edit Dec 2022: We had an error occur where two popular threads were accidentally merged. Crack in front of the drivers seat and holes in front of the battery lid. Hoping my neighbor, who has his own body shop can put a couple patches in there. Looking forward to having the holes patched and then it is on to insulating the entire cab, then painting the seat frame and finishing off the interior. Oh yes, the wife got the garden all planted. -Chris

I headed over there on Saturday. It was a fairly large show over 1000 cars and trucks. It was overcast on Saturday for the most part. Made it nice to walk around, seen a few nice vehicles.
There was only I handful I would actually write home about. I thought trailers were for boats?
Nice weekend in Wisconsin though..

Began work on rust spots at the bottom of both doors. FINALLY got rid of the Vise-Grips I'd been using as a driver's side window crank and installed the new cranks on both doors. Used JB Weld to keep the bottom of the driver's door glass in the regulator channel. I even have a working door glass!
Installed a new clutch pedal pad...that thing has been bare metal since I got it and I finally got around to putting one on it. I'm not sure I'll know how to use it.
Found that the passenger door is hopelessly stuck shut. Pulled the inner door panel off and verified that the actuator arm is being moved by the handle. It is. Tried giving the latch a little more help with a screwdriver. Didn't work. Door is still stuck.
Ohh...and I cleaned the garage and weeded a flower garden. Not bad for an old man with a bad heart. I had to do this in 15 minute spurts, cuz I run outta breath real easily. But I'm happy that I got some stuff done.

The two yards of sand/gravel mix in the bed had stuck solid, had to pick out about a third of it before it would dump. | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 476 Moderator | Moderator Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 476 | It was rainy Saturday afternoon, but I started Friday night. Unloaded and tore down the storage shelving in the garage. Got them rebuilt in a configuration that allows more storage. Was going to use the '47 to go get some sheets of 3/4" OSB but the wife wanted to go so we had to take the '89 Suburban.
Those shelves are built with a Unistrut frame, but I had to use some 2x4s to add shelf support so that I could get more shelf space. The only place in town that sells Unistrut was closed Saturday so I called them today to see what 4 sticks, 20 feet long would cost. Over $500!!! So I asked what about 80 feet in 10 foot sticks? $135! Apparently the shipping for those 20' pieces is a killer. Doesn't make sense to me, but I will probably buy a feew 10 footers to beef it up.
This is all for the purpose of getting the garage into shape for the frame-off phase of the '47 panel rebuild.
The wife decided we were going out to eat Sunday night. I only had two hours between getting home from church and leaving for that. Then she decided that we were going to sit there and visit with her girlfriend who met us for dinner. THREE HOURS!
I asked, "Why don't you bring Beth home so you girls can visit?"
"No, we won't be that long." That was an hour and a half into the deal...

John was able to get the '49 running (re-charged the battery -- it had been a tad bit cold here). But the weekend was great and he had some of the evening to diddle on the '49 1.5 ton.
Other than that, we were pretty consumed with LEAVES. We must have the biggest leaf-pile in the County.

She's triple checking our suitcase as I type. All I need is a swim suit(LOL) and hope the locals don't try pushing me back into the ocean trying to save me (fat joke).
