The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors Heater identification

Can anyone identify this heater-defrost unit as far as year? As you can see it fits fairly nicely under the dash, but I'm not certain it's the original style as the water inlet and outlets do not line up with the original firewall penetrations.

Bowtie Bits shows this one as a \'34 - \'46, but then...nder the dash with the top mounted motor .

not sure on the first Don, but the Bowtie one looks like the deluxe heater with 2 motors, one for heat, one for defrost, had one close to that in my 46, so it should fit 41 - the likely reason the water tube holes don't match is there was always a number of different heaters available and no tellin what was there in the last 60 years

Hey Bill thanks for the input. As you can see in the links I posted the heater/Defrost unit I inherited does not seem to match the factory inlet/outlet penetrations. No doubt the one I have will work just fine, especially since I just installed a 12V motor, but was wondering if anyone had info on the "correct" one. I don't want to start another "who cares" type discussion but am still looking to learn what was what when and then.
